Inclusion Statement

SD HEA actively promotes and recognizes principles of fairness, equity, and social justice in relation to, and across intersections of, race, age, color, faith, religion, ancestry, national origin, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, social class, economic class, ethnicity, gender identity/expression, family status, disability, body type, marital status, veteran status, or political orientation, and all other identities represented among our membership, prospective members, constituents, and partners. We foster a professional and personal culture of inclusiveness, collaborative practice, and mutual respect. Toward these ends, SD HEA will:

• promote equity and inclusion among members
• actively and regularly review its policies, programs, and practices to ensure that they are not discriminatory
• publish this statement on the SD HEA website and distribute among
the membership.

SD HEA will review equity/inclusion goals and objectives annually. This will be the responsibility of the Executive Board. These goals will be reviewed by the Board at its annual summer retreat and reported to the membership at the annual business meeting.
